Gargellner Stoba — Restaurant in Gemeinde Sankt Gallenkirch

We’ve visited several times, including one lunch stop, across our 2024 Summer holiday. The outside area is quiet, the dining furniture is comfortable (including the sofas) and the menu pretty extensive for Gargellen. We’ve been served by both a lady and a gentleman who struck the right balance between being friendly and professional in their approach. The food was nicely presented, well cooked and of good quality. Prices are typical of the area. Inside, the restaurant is beautifully fitted with traditional wood and fittings. Although the outside seating has limited views of the surrounding mountains it is quiet and a lovely place to relax. The hospitality staff do not rush you in any way. These places can feel very different during the busy winter ski season, especially over Christmas and the New Year. Central in Gargellen, book a table in advance to ensure that you'll get seats. The staff are friendly and very helpful, food is excellent, casual for apres ski drinks or food, and after 9pm the cellar bar "Smuggler's " opens. There is a new outside skating rink built just above the Tiaja ( linked with them) that has a great atmosphere, drinks, snacks, an incredible outside wood burner, and an inside hut you can use. Das Restaurant hat ein sehr ansprechendes Ambiente. Dieses wird leider durch das Servierpersonal kaputt gemacht. Wenn das Personal gerade nichts zu tun hat, "hängt" es auf dem Bierzapfhahn hinter der Bar und schaut gelangweilt Richtung der Tische, wo gegessen wird.

Wir waren zu dritt da, und haben das Abendessen dort eingenommen. Leider das letzte mal. Schade um das Ambiente und das Restaurant.

Die Getränke wurden lieblos auf den Tisch gestellt, wobei das eine Glas klebrig war. Der Wein wurde aus einer Kaputten 1/8 Karaffe eingeschenkt. Obwohl das Personal mehrmals vorbei ging, kam es niemandem in den Sinn, den Wein nachzuschenken.

Das "Entrecote Cafe de Paris, mit Zapfenkroketten und Brocholi" wurde uns in einer kalten Pfanne serviert. Anstelle "Cafe de Paris" war es "normaler" Kräuterbutter. Das Personal hat uns nicht gefragt wie wir das Entrecote wollen. Dem entsprechend war es für uns schon fast zu trocken. Und dafür haben wir je 35.40€ bezahlt.

Das "Stobä-Pfändli" kam wie es der Name sagt in einer Pfanne, leider war auch die kalt. Das Fleisch war mehr als durch. Die Spätzle waren in kürzester Zeit kalt. Auch dies ist nicht 22.80€ wert.

Ich würde vielleicht teilweise 1 Auge zu drücken, aber nicht, wenn nur 2 Tische plus 5 Personen an der Bar die einzigen Gäste waren.
