Yia, Gyrako! — Restaurant in Gemeinde Schwechat

By God was this some amazing greek food.

We arrived exhausted and sweaty after a long bike ride with my gf and the lady brought us extra ice in a cup without even asking. We felt like arriving to a friend’s place, the ladies working there were super nice and attentive. They were patient with us explaining what is what, and served us very fast.

The food was outstanding. Both presentation and flavor were excellent. Big portions as well.

Paid about 45€ for the three foods in the pictures below plus two ice teas and a himbeer soda. Could barely move after we ate everything :))

Kennt ihr schon das griechische Lokal, Yia Gyrako, Wiener Straße 46? Wer dieses Lokal betritt begibt sich auf eine kleine Zeitreise... Wer bereits in Griechenland war und es Abseits des Mainstreams in ein ein kleines griechisches Beisl geschafft hat wird es Wissen, was den griechischen Flair ausmacht. In solch kleinen Lokalen steht nicht das Interieur im Vordergrund. Nein. Vielmehr bieten solche Lokale eine Möglichkeit der Entspannung oder zum gemütlichen Beisammensein. Wer das griechische Flair kennt der weiß, dass die griechische Minute 60 Sekunden länger dauert. Aber Qualität und Frische immer im Vordergrund stehen. Auch in der Wiener Straße 46 ist das so. Die Einrichtung und Deko sind einfach gehalten. Das Essen dauert. Aber die Qualität und Frische sind Top! Im Hintergrund lief dezent griechische Musik. Das Essen war heiß und der Geschmack als auch Textur der Speisen ein Traum. Preis / Leistung / Qualität ist perfekt! Was man als Gast mitbringen sollte ist Zeit und Hunger. To begin with, the location and the outside view of the place will not hint you for something great, but when you meet the friendly Owner and you taste the great food, then all your prejudice regarding the place will go away.
