Stockerwirt — Restaurant in Gemeinde Wienerwald

Food and waiting have been good. The three stars are because of the restaurant's policy to allow limited time for lunch/dinner. When you exceed the time then they ask you to leave. This is irrespective of how many people are in the company (for example a company of 2 would need less time for dinner than a company of 10) or how big is the bill. Last time we visited the restaurant we were a company of 13 people. We arrived a bit after 15:00 and at five minutes to 18:00 when we were still having desert the bill came (without anyone asking for it or staff asking us first if we wanted something else, whether we finished etc). At 18:05 the owner came to tell us very strictly that we needed to go. I am a seasoned traveler and have been in a lot of restaurants around the world. I have rarely seen such an attitude. I believe that restaurants should make you feel comfortable and welcome. If they have restrictive policies regarding table occupancy or similar then they should make sure that guests are...

We ate at this place today. It all seemed really nice. Friendly staff. Very nice atmosphere. The place was a bit pricey, but with such a service and quality of ingredients I thought it was worth it. I had a nice big plate of tuna. Around 1h after eating at this place my face was burning red, and my heart was pumping. Over the last two hours I have severe attack of diarrhea along with headache. I think that I was poisoned at this place. Based on my symptoms what I have is a case of Scombrotoxic or histamine fish poisoning. Scombroid syndrome, named after a class of large, dark-meat fishes including tuna, occurs when raw fish is improperly handled or stored. The meat of the fish has a naturally occurring compound that, when broken down in response to prolonged air exposure and room temperature, turns into histamine. 2025: Today once again at Stockerwirt: Continuous to be one of the nicest experiences around Vienna. Wonderful table set-up on the little wooden platform next to the pond. Fantastic entries: artichoks and pimientos super tasty, various Schnitzel and a range of exquisite desserts: running chocolate cake, Topfenpalatschinken, Marillenknoedel. 2019: Rarely eaten that well in a beautiful location be this inside or on a sunny day in the wonderful garden with stylish country side set-up. Exquisite entries and wide range of typical and more unusual dishes. Look at their menue ! I had a short grilled tuna entry with rucola and mangoes. Delicious !
