Dont’t listen to other reviews, Yamas is one of the best Greek restaurants in all of Salzburg region!
It is well worth the visit and the bus ride from Salzburg city center. I am from Cyprus and I visited Yamas today with my boyfriend and two friends because my Cypriot friend and I felt homesick and had the need for some hearty-cooked Greek dishes and ouzo.
We were not disappointed! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the food. We ordered three starters to share (octopus salad, grilled aubergines, and buyiurdi). We shared 2 pitas and had 2 chicken souvlaki, gyros, and lamp chops in lemon sauce. The tastes were divine and I felt for a few hours that I was back in Greece. The waiters and owner are very friendly and attentive. They even let us know that the greek salad we ordered as a starter might be too much as the main dishes were all served with a small side salad. They were also quite accommodating when two of us asked to switch the fried chips with oven potatoes. The place had a warm vibe and had lots of plants. Naturally, after some ouzo we were all in a good mood. We had dessert (greek yoghurt and rose jam) on the house and the prices were very decent for the amount and quality of food. Yamas also offers a selection of Greek products like virgin olive oil and other condiments. Thank you Yamas,...
Read moreI recently visited Yamas Restaurant and it was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. Our server was rude, dismissive, and seemed completely uninterested in providing any semblance of decent customer service. The problems began immediately when we were greeted with a curt attitude and impatience when asking basic questions about the menu. It was clear that we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. This level of disrespect is absolutely unacceptable in any service industry, especially in a restaurant. I would strongly advise anyone considering dining here to think twice. There are many other restaurants where you can get better food and be treated with the respect and courtesy every customer deserves. Yamas Restaurant, unfortunately, does not meet even the most basic expectations of good service or...
Read moreWe waited for a long time for our food to arrive, despite the fact that the restaurant was far from busy – only five other patrons were present.
Foods were on the salty side. The meats were dry and stiff. One out of four pieces of meat on the chicken skewer was a chunk of fat. But it wasn't the worst part. The owner, who also served as our waiter, was shockingly rude and disrespectful.
It was a disgraceful display of unprofessionalism and a stark reminder of the lack of basic courtesy in this establishment.
The owner's behavior is not an isolated incident, as other reviews have mentioned similar encounters with his rudeness.
This dining experience thoroughly ruined our day and left us feeling disheartened and insulted.
No meal, regardless of how good it might be, is worth enduring...
