Mostschenke Ressenstüberl — Restaurant in Grundlsee

My family (husband and two boys ages 5 and 6) ate here tonight. It was the best meal we had in Austria.

The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. The food was absolutely delicious. They served authentic food from this area, all homemade. They also make cider and local schnapps, including a pine cone schnapps which was delicious and not like anything I have ever tasted.

They have tables outside, some of which have a view of the lake. The indoor seating was also lovely and had great views.

We had a great time at the Mostschenke. The owners make the food completely by themselves and are super enthusiastic and lovely; I've never experienced such a personal feeling in a restaurant before. The view is great, sitting on the balcony outside you have a great view of the Grundlsee and the nearby mountains and there were quite a few cute kittens around.
