We arrived to this Landzeit at lunchtime on a weekday. We seated ourselves down, waited for almost 15-20 minutes, and after we asked one of the passing servers if we should even expect in the near future anyone to come and serve us, he took our order. At the entrance we saw advertisment signs of new menu items. So after several schnitzel lunches in Germany, arriving to Austria we were once again greeted with the possibility of eating chicken or pork schnitzel, because practically all the advertised food was unavailable. The food came out pretty fast. One of the five items was not recorded as an order and was hence missing. I ordered extra ketchup as I wanted to eat a burger with fries, but the server forgot about it, or he just already knew how the fries, which is apperantly part of a "new concept" was absolutely diabolical which I will not eat. Dark brown, soggy and mad oily. Even if I wanted to, I could not be able to make such a mess. The rest of the food was mediocre. Tartare sauce was exceptionally good, probably the only item which was not "hausgemacht".
I don't mind paying double the normal price for a good culinary experience, but this is not it. Service and food so overpriced for this quality, even the beautiful view can not save it. What is also visible that the establishment is extremely understaffed. I don't think it is unfair to expect enough servers at such a restaurant, with such popularity due to its location, and high prices. Servers running up and down exhausted, whilst not even having time to clean the used plates from the tables. Of course their exhaustion and stress leads to bad service. Maybe the managers should start thinking how to improve the food and service of this establishment instead of thinking how to milk the customers more for a bad experience in return. If the goal is to rip off the passing tourists, you are on the right path. At least it is again visible that Austria is a German-speaking Balkan country, so proud of themselves but showing nothing which justifies this proud. Shame. I invite everyone to stop for the view and a picture to have a positive experience from this beautiful place, but for food go a couple miles further to the Mc Donalds in the next town, at least there you get the quality you...
Read moreNice place with beautiful view on Mondsee. Just prices are getting higher every year... Edit after some years and experience in 2024: I came to the restaurant this year where we're not so many people as I used to see. But it is not any problem. I ordered Zanderfillet and I should get a plate after the meal. Well,no plate at all. So don't expect it. What is also new is payed WC. Don't expect you will be able to use a card to pay to go to the bathroom. It's a bit ridiculous, because you eat there and then you must pay for using a WC. As I heard you should receive money back at cashier desk after using it, but I don't know, because I didn't have change on me,so I didn't use it... Experience? After so many years I loved going to visit this place, this is the last time I went there. And no more recommendations to my friends and people I know (and it's not a small number). This bitter experience really didn't make me...
Read morewe have visited this place for years as it is always open. value used to be great but steadily increasing prices are now causing me to drop it from being one of my regulars. ok, it is not busy now, with areas roped off, and very few staff , who now appear to be unhelpful and brusque.||when we went to pay, the cashier just put in the info and asked for card. price was higher than expected (lucky i checked) to find that my grandson, who has something from the childrens menue (cost 7.90€) was being billed for 24.90€ for a top of the range meal. cashier insisted that is what we had, and i would not authorise payment stating that it is not what he had. eventually, she stalked off and then came back and changed to the correct amount.||i do not know it it was a genuine mistake, but being made to look a fool infront of other customers, was a bit embarrassing.||the place has now...
