We went there for Törggelen in October but I gotta say we booked it two months in advance. Since we ordered both of the menus (with & without meat), I can comment on both and even compare them. When we arrived there, our table was already ready and the appetiser, aufstricht (something you can put on your bread) was waiting with the bread. To be honest, this was the worst of the whole menu. They used the cheapest type of bread and also Aufstricht, I have eaten was better ones earlier. However, the first warm dish (soup) was so tasty! (both Geistlsuppe and Pumpkin soup)🤤 Then, they served Käsespatzle and Krautsalat in the middle to share. They were also good. Afterwards, the main dish arrived. The one with meat was delicious but vegetarian version (Knödel) was below average. The dessert (Kaiserschmarn) was so fatty but good. In the end, they served grapes & chestnuts. Unfortunately, they were the worst chestnuts I have ever eaten: they were boiled instead of being roasted. That’s why, the taste was so watery and boring 🤷♀️ In general, it was too much food for this price and except a few things (appetiser, vegetarian main dish and chestnuts) I was happy with what we received.

Read moreThis restaurant serves traditional home cooked Austrian food from the region of Tirol. It's located on a mountainside overlooking Innsbruck, accessible by bus and a walk or by Uber. There's a carpark if you arrive by car.
It's in a unique wooden building lovingly restored with many original features. The terrace was full when I visited so I ate inside. It's dark wooden lit by a single bulb and candles, so it's cosy.
The food was outstanding, I started with the garlic soup, if it was polite to lick the bowl I would have. I then had the Tiroler Gröstl (Tirol Roast), once again if I could have licked the plate I would have. I finished off with the best Apfel strudel I have ever tasted.
After my meal I strolled back down to the bus stop alongside a paddock with...
