This restaurant was recommended to us from the host of the guest house, where we stayed. The atmosphere is not demanding, with an option to sit outdoor or indoor. The menu offers vegan and vegetarian options next to the traditional fish and meat dishes. Maybe the biggest attraction of the place is the opportunity to catch your own fish, but for us it was the fresh food. The trout is really fresh and delicious, no question about that! We tried the one with garlic and the one with bacon. The second one was a bit raw, but let's say, we didn't want to get into discussions, so we didn't turn it back. The baked potatoes were very tasty, and the Grüner Veltliner white wine was excellent! Unfortunately, the fish soup was a disaster. As someone who comes from a fish region, I just couldn't make this compromise. The soup was not eatable and I do not recommend it. The service is questionable. We were welcomed by a very kind lady, who politely warned us that we could wait approximately an hour for the food, because we didn't have a reservation. It was not a problem for us, and the good surprise was, that the order (the fish) came after 40 minutes, which was totally acceptable! Our table, though, was served by the tall lady, who was too serious and obviously reluctant to serve us (maybe because we are foreigners). Her attitude to us was quite pushy (to choose drinks and the meals), there was no smile, and the general impression was that we were intruders. She brought to us the first drinks, placing them on the table without any announcement what is what, without any single word! Althoug we had this in mind by other reviewers we felt unwelcomed. Luckily, later came another waitress - a young girl, who spoke English and the communication went smoothly and pleasantly. Besides, she was very hospitable, smiling and radiant and she even suggested a desert. She did everything with care and attention! Dear young lady, thank you very much for your service! To sum up, if you're lucky you'll be served by any of the polite staff members, and you'll get the most of the restaurant. My 2-star deduction is for the fish soup and the...
Read moreLiterally the best restaurant in this entire area. It's clear that the chef has a clear vision. It's more than a tavern or a place to eat, it's a proper restaurant in every sense of the word. Sophisticated flavours. Make sure to try the Tirol style fish with bacon. It's incredible. I took it because it was recommended on Google reviews and I can confirm it's spectacular. Very friendly staff. Very rustic cosy interior. A place fit for any type of company or...
