Gasthof Glocknerblick — Restaurant in Kals am Großglockner

This was the perfect bookend to a busy vacation. I really cannot say enough positive aspects. No matter where you are in the inn, there were breathtaking views. The location is mostly very relaxing. A neighbor was I think cutting tile, which could be loud at times, but this is a very active rural community, and so it was understandable. On that, the food at breakfast and at the restaurant is incredible! Meals were made with locally produced ingredients. Everything was cooked perfectly.

The service was very thoughtful. For breakfast, the family offered to make us hot food, which was a service in addition to the buffet spread. For dinner, the restaurant is very busy, so as guests, we were offered reservations every night without having to ask. Check-in and check-out are quick.

The room and bathroom are very large compared to a traditional hotel. No amenity in the room is wasted; they provided everything we needed. The environment and the Zero Waste movement are very important to me, but it is hard to avoid plastic when traveling, and so I appreciated the plastic-free amenities in our room.

Gasthof Glocknerblick is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed!||||The hotel is brand new, but based on a traditional building style. In addition to being new it is also kept spotless. ||The owner herself welcomes you and she is extremely nice, helpful and polite.||||The size of the rooms are quite large and the bathroom is also nice and spacious.We had a lovely room with a large balcony overlooking the Austrian alps and the rooms face west, so you have the evening sun.||The nearest town is 4-5 km. away (Kals), so just eat at the gasthof where the food is very nice, (traditional but with a little twist). There is a big terrace where it is lovely to sit and eat (weather permitting)||The breakfast could perhaps have a little larger assortment, but is a minor detail.||||The hotel is ideal for hiking and some amazing hiking routes are to be found on the nearby mountains. A cool detail is that the hotel has a special closet for your hiking shoes, so they can dry without you having to take them into the room.||I will not hesitate a second in recommending this beautiful little place to everyone.
