This is a nice private hut accessible in less than one hour from the Lucknerhaus parking lot. If you arrive in the evening and don't have enough time to hike up to the Stüdlhütte, staying here one night is a great way to start your Grossglockner hike. We stayed there both on the way up and on the way down. They have clean modern rooms and facilities. Very friendly staff, great food. Hot showers included in the price. You will appreciate this, especially on the way down, because there are no showers at the Stüdlhütte, and Adlersruhe does not have running water at all. We stayed at Lucknerhütte for two nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious, and they were flexible and accommodating when we decided to add an extra night. Our kids were warmly welcomed – there are games and Lego available, which kept them happy.
It’s good to know that the hike from the parking lot takes about an hour with children, and if you continue further up to the higher hut, it’s about another hour and a half uphill. I highly recommend booking a spot in advance at the upper hut – the view and the sense of accomplishment when you get there are absolutely worth it.

We were hiking from Germany and staying in different huts and this one turned out to be the best hut so far. The waitresses are very polite and come ask again and again if one needs anything. One even brought water so that we are hydrated.
