What a nice place to pause during your adventures on the Zillertaler Hohestrasse, especially if you’re with younger kids.

There’s a playground where kids can play with water, run around, swing, run around, walk a bit along a short route. Well, a lot of things to make kids (and thus, parents) happy.

The view is good, quite some parking space in front. Food we tried was great, but be honest: eating kaiserschmarn in the sun while the kids are playing is worth a 5 star review in itself.

Friendly personnel, prices are good for up that high. Only downside, only...

The kitchen and staff cannot handle the amount of people that they have space for. This makes the whole place a mess for both guests and staff. The staff is not coping with this well and gets stressed, and is then rude to borderline hostile to guests. The worst place to have your lunch while skiing that I've ever been. This might be better in summer, or when staying over. Because the food is decent, and the location is nice. But on busy ski days, pick any other...

Wir waren heute im Murmelland im Zillertal, einem wirklich liebevoll gestalteten Ort, der sehr einladend wirkt. Die Atmosphäre ist schön und das Ambiente passt gut zum Gesamterlebnis.

Wir haben zwei Suppen und einen Kaiserschmarrn bestellt. Die Suppen waren wirklich lecker und frisch zubereitet. Leider war der Kaiserschmarrn für meinen Geschmack viel zu süß – man hat beim Kauen regelrecht auf Zuckerklumpen gebissen, was das Gericht ungenießbar gemacht hat. Als ich das dem Kellner freundlich mitteilte, erhielt ich die Antwort, dass der Kaiserschmarrn vielleicht nicht richtig karamellisiert sei und dass der Kaiserschmarrn nun mal süß sei. Andere Personen hinter mir lachten nach dieses Äußerung und ich fühlte mich bloßgestellt. Man bot mir dann an, den Kaiserschmarrn von der Rechnung zu nehmen.

Ich war enttäuscht, da ich durchaus weiß, wie ein Kaiserschmarrn schmecken sollte – ich komme seit über acht Jahren regelmäßig nach Österreich und habe viele Kaiserschmarrn probiert. Leider hatte ich das Gefühl, dass mein Anliegen nicht wirklich verstanden wurde und der Kellner sich eher angegriffen fühlte, anstatt auf mein Feedback einzugehen.

Insgesamt war der Besuch schön, besonders die Suppen haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Beim Kaiserschmarrn würde ich mir jedoch eine bessere Umsetzung und ein aufmerksameres...
