Gasthaus - Hotel Höhenwirt, Restaurant am Pyramidenkogel — Restaurant in Keutschach am See

This is copy of the review I posted in the restaurant section.||||||I'm sorry it has taken me so long to let you, dear reader, know how wonderful this place is. Not just the restaurant, but the hotel as well. ||||Heavenly, idyllic, charming, delightful, delicious, fantastic - I really could go on and on. From the attractive and airy apartment, to the go-the-extra-step service, to the mozzarella soup, everything about this place was wonderful.||||We arrived, without a booking, on a holiday weekend and were lucky to snag the last room - a one bedroom apartment with gorgeous views. The restaurant was totally booked, but they simply brought a table out of storage and put it on the grass next to the terrace. How delightfully accommodating of the matrie d'hotel. The most magnificent dinner was followed by a tour of the kitchen and meeting the chef/owner.||||We woke the next morning to the staff singing as they hung out the table cloths to dry. They worked among the wandering cows and called out to the kitchen staff picking vegetables from the garden for that day's meals. It was like a movie.||||We decided to stay three nights as they had availability (we found out our room had been a late cancellation), and we were in love with the place. It never failed to please us during our stay.||||So much so that anytime a friend says they are venturing anywhere near - and I mean Austria, northern Italy, Slovenia, planet earth - I tell them that they have to visit the Best hotel in which we have...

This is primarily a typical Austrian Gasthaus catering both to guests coming for lunch or dinner on the nice outside Terrace with a nice view of the Karawanken Mountains and tourists/families staying for vacation.||The rooms are basic, many have balconies, and needless to say all have TV and free Wi-fi. ||There are lots of activities you can enjoy in the surrounding area from visiting the tall sightseeing tower on the top of the hill, to swimming in the lake at the bottom of the hill, hiking, biking, and even golf not far away.||So if you look for an affordable three star quality place in the area this is one option...
