Kitzalm 30/31 blaue piste (aix + spareribs) — Restaurant in Kirchberg in Tirol

The place has changed a lot, I think there is a different owner. Food is good but nothing too special.

The service was really bad. We had to ask 4 times before we could order. When we could finally order the waiter excused himself for the wait and was all nice. He said he would give us some schnaps to say sorry. The schnaps unfortunately never came. The worst part was that when we had to pay, the waiter insisted that a 5 tot 10 % tip was more than usual and almost needed to be able to make it as a skiing hut. Asking for this, especially after all the bad service, feels wrong to do and shows some bad hospitality skills.

The atmosphere was weird, walking in with a DJ that was playing some melodic techno outside, which totally did not fit the traditional Austrian looks of the building and terrace. Inside there were two really loud groups of people talking and both started singing out loud. After a while it was more quiet and then out of nowhere some loud pop music was played. This was way too loud and after a while it was turned down...

The Kitzalm Restaurant is a place that I strongly advise against visiting. Despite being located in a nice place and having a decent terrace that is in the sun, I cannot recommend it. I should have read the reviews on Google and TripAdvisor beforehand, because they are all true. The food takes forever to come, and the prices are outrageous. We ordered an appetizer board for two people they charged €225 (see photo, the food was good, but the price for what you get is outrageous!) and the owner even suggested his own absurd tip. All the prices on the menu card are beyond belief. There are so many better places than this one. If you happen to find yourself here, just order water or use the restroom and skip this restaurant as fast as you can! If you have lunch anyway, ask for a bill since they will not give this to...

We waren na 4 jaar weer aan het skiën in Kirchberg met ons groepje van 4 en we wilden weer eens in de zon lunchen bij Kitzalm vanwege fijne herinneringen. Eenmaal daar voelde de bediening al anders en was de muziekkeuze veranderd (lichte housemuziek) maar de zon was er gelukkig nog! De tent was duidelijkheid over genomen door een andere eigenaar. Maar goed, we hadden er evengoed zin in. We besloten een plank voor 2 personen te nemen als vooraf met een flesje wijn en wij vroegen of dat mogelijk was. Ja hoor! Lang verhaal kort, het eten was erg lekker en we genoten totdat de rekening kwam.... € 330 zonder bon en de suggestie van de bediening voor een fooi van € 40 (!) want dat was gebruikelijk. Serieus?! Ik heb niks tegen commercie want ik ben zelf al 22 jaar winkelier, maar willen jullie echt zo geld verdienen? Ik schrijf om deze reden zeer zelden een review want ieder bedrijf kan eens een vergissing maken maar dit beleid is schandelijk. Zonde, zonde en nog eens zonde. Laat maar, wees blij met het geld maar hier gaan we nooit meer heen en wees...
