Hornköpflhütte — Restaurant in Kitzbühel

I absolutely love this place and have been returning here every summer. The hut has an amazing view, friendly and humorous staff/owner. The food is also amazing and I highly recommend the Kaiserschmarrn as it was the best one I've had anywhere in Austria. During the summer you need to walk up a short trail to get to it but it is definitely worth it. This is a high end venue and the prices reflect that. I think the high prices are absolutely justified by the quality and location. To those who complain about the prices, there are several other restaurants around offering the standard stuff. I have seen my fair share of mountain huts and lodges and none of them were anywhere near this level. I highly recommend this place if you like high quality food...

The restaurant at 1500 meters up is effing phenomenal! Whoever designed the interior and whoever maintains it need to be kissed, hugged and paid damn well. Ich liebe diese Hütte eigentlich und wir hatten die letzten Sommer immer eine fanatische Zeit dort - Essen und die Lage sind einfach außergewöhnlich. Anscheinend hat jetzt der Betreiber gewechselt, ich habe die Nummer auf der Website angerufen, weil bei Google stand sie als "geöffnet" und wollte nett nachfragen ob sie jetzt nun zu oder offen ist.

Selten wurde so unfreundlich mit mir gesprochen, schon mit einer arroganten Art und Nullbock Einstellung wurde ans Telefon gegangen. Auf meine Rückfragen wurde trotzig geantwortet - Die Hütte hätte auch letztes Jahr nicht offen gehabt und ich soll auf eine andere gehen. Es ist ja völlig in Ordnung, dass die Hütte aktuell geschlossen hat, aber dann erklärt das doch den Leuten normal und nett. Falls die Hütte nächsten Sommer aufhaben sollte, werde ich mir echt überlegen ob ich nochmal...
