Great location in the mountains and surrounded by vineyards, and the loudest things were the crickets. The rooms were spacious and kept very clean, and each has its own balcony overlooking a lovely view. A nice en suite bathroom with a walk in shower was very much appreciated in the morning.||The welcome was warm and friendly, and our later arrival and early departure were easily accommodated. Breakfast was plentiful, and included home made food and locally sourced produce, along with the usual staples of cereals etc. Frau Schauer is an excellent cook! ||We felt well looked after without being fussed over throughout our stay.||There was a fascinating winery tour and wine tasting on Wednesday afternoon, sampling six of their own wines. Quite a revelation of how many flavours can be extracted from the various grape varieties!||We had several meals in the Buschenschank, featuring a lot of local specialities which are well worth trying. If in doubt- go for it! It's worth bearing in mind that a Buschenschank is only allowed by law to serve cold food, which doesn't stop it being plentiful and very tasty. If you have a craving for a hot meal there are plenty of options around. You certainly won't starve!||You can buy their wines to take with you, and I must say that the choice is excellent.
