The so highly rated Wiener Schnitzel was unevenly pounded and not well trimmed. Convenience food French fries (better at McDonald’s!)
The perch fish was not properly defrosted. Was dipped into flour before frying and the oil wasn’t hot enough to creat a nice crust but rather a soft flour covering without any seasoning. Parsley potatoes dried out and over cooked with a hint of parsley.

Google maps lead us astray; call the restaurant for directions if you're unfamiliar (especially in the dark). It's way easier to get to than where GPS will lead. Peter was so warm, friendly, and welcoming. The traditional atmosphere was so fun for our American family to see, and also beautifully decorated for Xmas. Heute nach einer Radtour sind wir hier eingekehrt. Ist an einem Montag ja nicht so einfach im Mürztal etwas zu finden das geöffnet hat. Ist ein uriger Landgasthof, rustikal eingerichtet, mit seinem eigenen Charme. Auf der Speisekarte dominieren Schnitzel vom Schwein, Rind oder Pute. Aber es gibt für alle was. Die Auswahl ist durchschnittlich groß. Von 11 bis 14 Uhr gibt es ein Salatbuffet, danach nur Salat aus der Küche (Hygienevorschrift).
Die Suppe zwar ordentlich groß und sehr heiß, aber neben der Einlage und etwas Schnittlauch währe noch etwas Gemüse (z.B Karottenstücke) schön. Und auch keine richtige Rindssuppe. Die einzelnen Teile des gemischten Salat schmecken sehr bekannt. Die Hauptspeisen ordentlich groß, also drei Putenschnitzel, das kann sich schon sehen lassen (Die Portion Preiselbeeren war dafür eher klein). Und die unterschiedliche Paniere waren echt gut. Aber das Gemüse beim Grillteller schnell kalt, das Fleisch etwas stark gewürzt.
Ja natürlich, ich darf einen Landgasthof nicht mit einen Spitzenlokal vergleichen, das währe unfair. Und ich muss sagen, wir würden ordentlich satt, und es war jetzt nichts schlechtes, oder grob falsches. Ein Aha Erlebnis war aber auch nicht dabei.
