Alpengasthof Wiesenhof — Restaurant in Mayrhofen

Great spot for lunch on your way down the Ahorn mountain after a half day skiing. Ahorn is a small area in the Maryhofen range so half a day is enough unless you fall asleep on the deck chairs outside the famous 'White Lounge' ice bar. Alpengathof tucked away off the edge of a piste was so quiet we thought it might be closed. However a friendly freuline quickly appeared and led us out to a sunny terrace tucked away at the rear of the building. The Schmeisercalm (don't think I've spelled that quite right) which is an Austrian speciality of sweet pancake fritter came with a choice of apple or cranberry sauce.
