Gasthaus Wasserfall — Restaurant in Mayrhofen

After a short coach trip from Innsbruck Airport and a very short taxi ride from the Strass Hotel, I arrived at the Appartements Wasserfälle, from the outside I was quite taken a back and the place looked very picturesque.|When I got to the apartment, which was on the second floor/top level it was clean and welcoming. Heidi (owner) helped by supplying coffee, as I'd arrived on a Sunday and all the shops were closed sadly, but this being my third visit to Mayrhofen in two years, I should've remembered. On the plus side though the nearest shop is a 1min walk from the apartments, probably takes longer to walk down the stairs than it does to walk to the shop from the end of the property.|The balcony over looked the base of the Ahorn mountain and the view was both breathtaking and calming. (Pic inc).|A short walk from the centre of Mayrhofen and the cable cars to the mountains, 10mins ish, the apartments are ideal for anyone who wants to use the slopes. Wir können die fast durchweg positiven Bewertungen nicht komplett nachvollziehen. Von unserer schönen Wanderung war die Einkehr hier leider der negative Abschluss. Unsere Kritikpunkte: Vorab: die Haltung der Forellen, die außen öffentlich zur Schau gestellt werden, sieht nicht nach artgerechter Haltung aus. Die bestellten Käsespätzle kamen mit einem Salat, der nicht furchtbar war, aber aus hauptsächlich eingelegten Bestandteilen serviert wurde. Die Spätzle waren leider zerkocht, viel zu weich. Allgemein war das Gericht ohne viel Geschmack, und als eine Bedienung nach unserem Befinden fragte, biss einer von uns auf eine riesige Eierschale. Sollte nicht passieren, ist aber auch nicht dramatisch, die Bedienung entschuldigte sich und verwies auf die frische Zubereitung des Essens. Was uns eher zu dieser Bewertung veranlasst, war der darauf folgende Satz, dass wir deswegen bitte keine schlechte Rezension abgeben sollen. Wie ich was bewerte, möchte ich doch gerne selbst noch entscheiden. Die Eierschale war definitiv auch nicht der Hauptgrund unserer Unzufriedenheit. Wir wurden von 5 verschiedenen Bedienungen bewirtet. Von der Bestellaufnahme, Servieren des Trinkens/Essens, Abholen des Essens und Kassieren wechselte das Personal ständig. Das kann ein subjektives Empfinden sein, aber für uns gehört das nicht zu einem angenehmen Ambiente. Sauberkeit: Unsere Tischdecke hatte Flecken, ansonsten war alles in Ordnung. Was uns überrascht hat, waren herumlaufende Hunde (haben wir persönlich kein Problem mit) und rauchende Gäste, wo Essen serviert wird (haben wir schon eher ein Problem).

Great hotel in lovely area. Krimml is a beautiful village high in the alps and hotel is situated in the village away from the main road. Views are beautiful and the mountain air is crisp and fresh. You can walk to the waterfall trail and visitor centre. The hotel is an old farmhouse and rooms are roomy and furnished in traditional style. leisure facilities include an indoor/outdoor swimming pool and sauna and are very welcome after a days hiking or cycling.
