Jerà am Furtnerteich — Restaurant in Neumarkt in der Steiermark

The location is just idyllic! Best in the spring or summer, when you look for some cooling, swimming and sunbathing. Amazing views regardless of weather. Also kids-friendly not only outside with some play grounds but inside as well. They even allow kids to play with their own kids' toys.

Restaurant: great Italian taste. Delicious rich topped pizza. Very tasty pastas. The servings were bigger than expected. The Italian family and staff know their how-to's. They even were helpful enough and provided scheduled to a friend's visit hot coffee on time. The building has its unique interior with many antiques, but outside the terrace is simple, cosy and benefits from magical scenery Furtnerteich offers. Nice music in the background adds to good feelings.

Staff: very friendly, they go above and beyond to make sure everything is okay. With this family you really feel at home and cared for.

Rooms: it's not 5 stars, true, but to such a place you do not come for fitness in the basement or making breakfast from the room's fridges or microwaves 😉 you get that from the restaurant below. Perhaps small details could be refreshed, but hey, bang for the buck ratio is not bad as for Austria. The room was cleaned daily.

Fun fact: the wooden boats at the entrance have been there for more than 25+ years. You know the feeling, when you can make that same picture from childhood 25 years later and 3000 kilometers further, with friend who lives here nearby, right? Magic. And I got the original Murauer bier mug as a souvenir for a symbolic...

As mentioned few times, this place is ran by italian couple. The hotel is right oa the lake separated by a small road. Lovely views from the room and the terrace (see photo). Behind the hotel is quite a busy train track. Fortunatelly you cant really hear the train on the lake view side. Not sure if thera are any rooms on the train side. ||||The rooms are basic but functional. Small table and chair, small tv, wardrobe and bathroom with shower. Make sure you take your shower in off peak times as it can happen that there is no ir not enough hot water. Worth mentioning is the surprisingly comfy bad in soft dunas. Big plus for that!||||At ground floor is restaurant, breakfast room and lounge. Restaurant is non smoking. The menu is italian. Very good pizza priced around 9 eur. The meat and fish dishes are bit more expensive (15-20 eur). ||||Breakfast was basic but nice. Big selection of nice teas. Salami, speck, cheese and breads and croissants. Youghurt and cereals and jams. Soft boiled egg would have been nice but it was still great value accommodation with breakfast.||||We really enjoyed the stay and wouldn't mind coming back. Great hiking options. Beautiful area with lot of lakes. Perfect for fishermen...
