Gasthaus Kaiserbuche — Restaurant in Obertrum am See

Having read the majority of the reviews, I left very disappointed sadly. Extremely lazy approach to the culinary side of things. I'd love to know when the chef, sorry, cook, last peeled a fresh carrot. Or a cucumber. But the tin opener has definitely earnt it's keep. And there is most certainly no shortage of 5L plastic containers there either. There is nothing wrong with serving traditional style food, but it is 2019. Maybe the traditional style food could be achieved while using quality produce and making everything fresh. I worked in the gastronomy industry for years, and now, when I go out and order food I know the hidden story to everything. When I order meat, I enjoy to eat meat. Not pick the few strands of meat from the kilos of pure fat. The prices here aren't exactly cheap, so I left feeling pretty hard done by, along with a painful stomach and a touch of heart burn.... 1 star is minimum, and the second is for the waitress who remained polite and professional when my wife didn't enjoy the food she ordered to the point only 30% of it was eaten. I decided to visit again the restaurant, since the last time I was very satisfied. Big mistake!!!! The today's experience was extremely unpleasant. The food was very bad. Cold and served like we were animals. The service was even worse. And above all it was a dirty place. I do not recomend it and of course I will never never go back there.

This review is 9 months old: The quality of the food was excellent!!!! The service was quick, we didn't have to wait long. I am giving 3 stars only because the table cloth was dirty, and the waiter was reluctant to explain to us what were the dishes. Although I speak German, I sometimes need some help....especially when there are traditional dishes. So we decided to play safe and order Schnitzel and something else with beef... Nevertheless, I am planning to visit them again, and hopefully it will change me mind...

Can be easily and fast too many guests on sunny days. Left after 30 minutes without receiving a menu card/service while sitting on the terasse.

The drinks and food looked very good on the other tables. The view/landscape is absolutely beautiful and worthwhile. You need to calculate probably with a stay of 60-90 min...
