This place is a great fusion restaurant + hotel very close to Graz, actually located in Peggau one of the suburbs of the City of Graz. At La Cucina you can have a delicious wood stove pizza and pasta in Italian style but also other meals ranging from steaks to burgers. Our meals were a yummy salami pizza and a tonno (tuna) pizza. Both fluffy and saucy at the same time the pizzas feature the right ratio between cheese, tomatoes and the given topping. The tonno pizza comes with tuna, olives and onions.
The prices are reasonable, the staff is very friendly and you can sit in the patio to enjoy the sun surrounded by green. This sun terrace is really a plus, when the weather is right. And the view from here is really peaceful, since this place is located in a valley with high mountains on both sides inviting to hike.
Inside La Cucina the interior is also very stylish and artsy with eye for detail. It’s one big room divided by artsy interior in several sections. This leads me to the hotel which is also very stylish with decorative art on the wall, vintage furniture and elegant interior of the rooms. For instance the Milano and the Venezia rooms are quite impressive as again also when it comes to the hotel the owners obviously have a passion for detail making sure that the whole establishment, the restaurant as well as the hotel, represents a harmonious ensemble. By the way this hotel also provides a relax room with comfortable chairs, utilities to work out as well as a sauna. So there are many things to do here in Peggau.

Read moreHotel La Cucina is located in a small, quiet village, ideal for a short stay. The room was clean, as was the bathroom, and the balcony was spacious and pleasant – a perfect spot to relax. The parking area is also well maintained and easy to access, which is a big plus.
This is quite a decent place to spend the night, whether you are just passing through on a trip or attending the nearby Formula 1 race.
However, I believe the hotel should communicate information more clearly at the time of booking – there was no mention that breakfast is not served on Sundays or public holidays. Since there are hardly any alternatives for breakfast in the village, this can be quite inconvenient.
When breakfast is available, it is à la carte and not exactly cheap. The food is fine, but for the price, I would expect better bread and a slightly wider selection.
Overall, the accommodation is clean and convenient, but in my opinion, the price does not justify the level of service the hotel offers. I recommend checking all details in advance so you don’t end up...
