Walter Restaurant — Restaurant in Politische Expositur Gröbming

The WORST experience ever in a restaurant, and you bet I’ve been to hundreds. Just go to the Speiskammerl and have great food!

We ordered the “One and Only stake” or whatever with original rumpsteak etc. We got this abomination with a tiny portion of meat. The other “Cheese burger” was worse than the cheese burger in a McDonalds…the pictures speak a thousand words. These would have been 23 and 16€ which we didn’t want to pay.

Now comes the best part: we told this to the waiter, who after arguing with us about the burger being hand made and the meat being special and expensive, he just took the food and never came back again with not even an apology. What the heck?

We paid at the cashier for the third food which was a tapas (also nothing special) and left. Such a shame.

To answer the comment by the restaurant: We made a complaint on how the food LOOKED and how TINY the portions were, then got our food taken away, thought we would be given a new one. We did not receive anything or any comment for 30 minutes, now this is what is disgraceful by any host. So we stood up, left and DID pay for the one...

This restaurant does not deserve any stars. We came to dinner with 5 people. Four of us wanted the ribs, but unfortunately we could only get two.

We waited for 1,5 hours for our food, while the restaurant was not crowded at all. After the 1,5 hours, only four of us had gotten their food. One of us was forgotten.

Furthermore, the burgers were very dry and de sited were burned. The ribs were not cooked at all!

This was the worst restaurant experience of our lives. And we have seen a whole lot of restaurants in our lives, because we love to travel and go out to dinner.

When we said to the owner that literally al of our burgers were very dry, he just looked at us and asked if we wanted the bill.

Unfortunately it was really expensive for the lacking quality!

Wonderful restaurant in the heart of the town. The nostalgia friendly people work here and they were so helpful. The food was fresh and delicious, beer very cold, what more could you need? The younger blonde woman helping us was so cool, she thankfully spoke English sounds like she lived in the Caribbean at some point but one of the most friendly people we have met staying here in Austria over the last week. We came in early for food but this place would be really fun with a group of people to have beer post hike...
