It looks lovely! The food is really great, I had a margarita pizza and a chocolate cookie, both of which were delicious and tasted better than other pizzas and cookies I've had. Would recommend. You can buy Slovenian and Austrian vignettes here and there is an outdoor playing area for kids. The toilets cost 50 cents for use (small children for free), but they do give you a 50 cent voucher which you can use in the diner. Cons: There is a very long queue for the restrooms, especially for women. This stop is accessible from both directions of the highway, causing it to be extremely busy in summer time. Also, they have digital menu boards, switching between different parts of the menu. So if you'd like to view the pizza menu for example, you need to wait a couple minutes before it's on. Then, if you didn't have enough time to read it all, you need to wait another couple of minutes before the menu returns to the pizzas. All in all though, great aesthetic, great food and a nice place. Just very busy in summer, must be a great...
Read moreLess than fully clean place, also vegetation around the diner has not been tended to for a while. Some trimming might do it good. Also the terrace when we arrived was dirty - paper bags on the floor, and general impression was that for Austrian standard, this is not clean. Also on the side of the diner there is something that looks like poorly organized storage. Prices are wildly overexagerated, pizza slice (big one) is 6.5 EUR, and hamburger almost 20 EUR. Lady that work the cash register is kind and nice. And I like the American 50s diner concept. The toilet is very bad, it is charged but I almost threw up when I took a breath on my...

The 1950s-style building and interior are great, but the visit felt a bit chaotic with many people crowded near the counter. The pizza on display looked like it had been sitting out, the prices were higher than expected, and the counters and floor could have been cleaner.
We decided not to stay and eat, but I appreciate Maria's Diner reaching out for feedback. The place has real potential, and I'd like to give it another try...
