Natur & Alpinhotel Post — Restaurant in Sölden

We had decided to take our granddaughter along with other members of our family to visit Austria to enjoy the snow. In the south of England where we live, snow is a rare commodity.||The decision to stay in Hotel Post, Vent proved to be an exceptional choice. The small village perched high in the mountains was exactly what we were looking for . . . and more!||The food at the hotel is way above average, we stayed on a half-board basis and i recommend anyone thinking of staying should do the same. A five course dinner every evening, service where nothing is too much trouble and staff, hoteliers alike, all very friendly.||The skiing in the village is limited but that is not what we went for, generally to enjoy the snow with our granddaughter although i did ski for a day. The word uncrowded springs to mind on the slopes! If you need more skiing, Solden resort is only 20 minutes away on the regular bus service.||I mentioned we stayed longer than anticipated . . . well, the village was cut-off due to an unprecedented amount of snow that fell during our 4-day weekend.||The only road in and out of the village was completely blocked by snow, it just added to our enjoyment! A few phone calls to our various places of work back in England and re-arranged flights, no harm done.||The hotel boasts a decent indoor pool, saunas and steam rooms - all free to use during our stay, all areas kept spotlessly clean.||We very much hope to visit this wonderful hotel again at some future date - snow...

We booked a week at Hotel Post. Excellent food (breakfast buffet, afternoon tea, 5-course dinner). The room is clean, spacious and cosy. The only downside I found was that it only had a bath and a sprinkler but no shower curtain. The wellness area is very good and it looks all brand new. A perfect 4-star hotel.||However, the one thing that makes this hotel excellent and special is the service. The host really went that extra mile to give us a perfect stay. We went hiking and due to bad weather had to postpone a stayover at a mountain hut, but the host arranged everything. I don't have a habbit of writing reviews, but I'm really impressed by their friendliness and how much effort they made to give us the best of holidays.||If you like mountains, good food and really friendly people: just go, you won't be...

Wir sind über die Veränderungen sehr enttäuscht! Preis – Leistung stimmt nicht Mehr! Die vielen guten Bewertungen beziehen sich auf die Zeit vor Umstellung auf das "neue Konzept": weniger Leistung und Qualität, verbunden mit Preiserhöhung. Das Hotel Post ist nicht mehr das, was es war. Das "neue Konzept" zielt nur noch auf Gewinnmaximierung ab, verbunden mit gleichzeitiger Reduzierung der Qualität.

Bisher war es unser Ski Lieblingshotel und wir waren langjährige und treue Stammgäste. Bis letztes Jahr wurde die Halbpension zu einem angemessenen Preis angeboten. Mit Beginn der Saison 2022/2023 wurde die Halbpension und die 16 Uhr Jause gestrichen, jedoch die Zimmerpreise gleich gelassen.

Ein Garant für den Erfolg dieses Hauses war das abendliche, erstklassige 5 Gänge Menü mit ausgezeichneter Weinbegleitung der beiden Sommelière. Dies ergänzten den schönen Abschluss eines tollen Skitages. Die vielen positiven Rezensionen, der letzten Jahren, bezogen sich fast ausschließlich auf die ausgezeichnete Küche und den Weinkeller. Das neue Konzept sieht nun vor, dass man abends ein preislich anspruchsvolles Tellergericht bestellen kann.

Die Speisekarte ist für Fleischfans ausgelegt, nach dem Motto; Hauptsache viel Fleisch. Auch einige Fischgerichte werden angeboten. Die vegetarische Küche oder sogar die Vegane sind jedoch kaum, bis nicht vorhanden. Dies ist bei einem sog. Neuen Konzept nicht zeitgemäß. Die Fleisch- und Fischgerichte sind geschmacklich gut, die wenigen vegetarischen Gerichte nicht. Unaufgefordert bekommt man zu Beginn etwas Brot mit Butter gereicht. Bei diesen hohen, abendlichen Speisepreise ist dies in anderen Lokalen Standard und inbegriffen. Nicht beim neuen Konzept im Hotel Zur Post. Hier nun fanden wir am Ende auf unserer Rechnung zusätzlich 2,50 EUR/Person berechnet. Das Skigebiet ist nicht besonders anspruchsvoll. Dies wurde durch die wunderbare Kombination aus Schlemmen auf hohem Niveau und familiengeführtem Hotel kompensiert. Das neue Konzept hat die Ausrichtung nur noch auf Gewinnmaximierung mit hohen Preisen, bei viel schlechterer Leistung.

Wir werden uns ein neues Hotel suchen, wo Preis-Leistung stimmt und vor allem, wir uns wieder als Gast und nicht als ausgenommene...
