Gasthof Oberstegen — Restaurant in Söll

This Hotel is family owned and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are kind, very helpful, with great attention to detail. Their English is excellent and their welcome was exceptional. The food is out of this world and service was quick and attentive without being intrusive. Our room was excellent, clean and well fitted out, the beds were all comfortable even the third one. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and laid out beautifully. If anyone wants a great place to stay, then this is it. The road in front of the hotel is not a factor in anyway. None of us heard a thing from getting into bed until we awoke in the morning. We only wish that we had had more time to stay at this lovely hotel but we had to move on. When we arrived the weather was such that it had been absolutely throwing it down all day and we were tired and hungry and late! They kept the kitchen open to serve us our meal and we were not rushed in any way. Out of 10 I would give this hotel 20. We styed in 15 hotels on our holiday and this was far and above the best of them all and two of the others...

Gasthof Oberstegen in Tirol, Austria, is situated in a valley between two narrow sides of hills. In August it is lovely green and it has an nice outside garden restaurant. Our room was on the street side, despite we have ordered it since months. But there was no other room available it was said. Outside signs said "Zimmer frei". Our room had enough space but it was darkened by an overhanging roof. The bathroom was large enough but had no window. Breakfast buffett in the "Bauernstube" was variable und good. ||The staff was friendly and professional. ||We had the window open, but most of the cardrivers all night misunderstood this special road in front of the Gasthof as their personal racetrack.
