Bergrestaurant Brandstadl - Scheffau — Restaurant in Söll

I have been here before. And although in the past I had nothing to complain, it also is not a high quality restaurant. But the last time I went there I feel I have to share this experience. You have to collect your own food here, and then go to the counter to pay. I was ordering food for multiple people, and some of the food I already had. But they needed to still make some burgers. We had to wait a very long time for that, and the other food went cold. Even though I was standing next to the counter my kids could not take there food already to start eating. I asked for that, "can they already leave, and I will pay for it". No was the awnser, we had to wait for the order to be complete before I could pay and the kids could go to the table. Next to that, the burger making proces was very slow. I had put in my order, and they started with making it. But before finishing my order, they took in new orders also. And stated making those orders also. Leaving my order unfinished, and taking in again new orders, stated making them, and leaving all ongoing orders unfinished. That is not how to...

As for a self-service restaurant (you have trays and you can get from staff food, but drinks you pour by yourself - excluding alcohol beverages), the food itself is very tasty and well-cooked, the line to get it is pretty short (up to 5-10 minutes, depends on what you're getting), you can have different meals and dishes, including a salad mix, so you can add your own ingredients. There's also a toilet on the lower floor. The prices aren't too expensive for such places and when you go to the checkout, the staff is quite nice and quickly processes your order. The onliest minus is that in 2024/2025 season they removed the tap with free water from a mountain spring close to the checkouts, and you have to pay €7 for 0,75 Rõmer Quelle, which is quite expensive. A year on and this place is even worse. The staff appear content to stand around and gossip in the way of passing patrons, ordering was excruciatingly slow and this time I didn't order coffee because i was fed up waiting. Complete disinterest in customers.

A year ago service was also terrible. On the one hand the food is excellent. However, the experience wasn't. Our empty plates and glasses were whisked away when we had only just finished them. I was relaxing finishing my beer and the waitress asked if we wanted coffee clearly intimating that if not we should be moving on.
