We used one of Landzeit hotels on our way in the Alps. Service, room standard and food was fine (St Valentin), so we decided to use one of this chain's hotels on our way back. Voralpenkreuz was TOTAL FAILURE - only to begin with rude and unprofessional staff at the reception desk, not mentioning poor room standard and weak (in practice no) WI-FI. We didn't want another disappointment, so we did not decide on having breakfast there. ||A few more details:||* The bathroom was open to the room with no door, where the toilet and shower inside it shared one sliding door moving from one side to another, so or the toilet was closed or the shower-never both. ||* The man at the reception desk greeted us with typing the amount on the calculator (although I spoke German) and asking if we were sure we could afford it...Ok...Then he asked that we (my husband and I) both checked in and signed the card payment confirmation. Usually it's enough if only one of us gives personal details. Moreover our debit card works with PIN and the signature had never been necessary...Ok...When we finally recieved our room key (card) it didn't ||function in the lift (we took the stairs) nor in the room...When I went down to the reception to explain there was probably something wrong with the card, Mr Nice & Professional (the same one) told me I must had mistaken the room number and then he concentrated on my improper use of the German word "wirken" instead of "funktionieren" . Thank you Sir for the lesson! Thankfully you managed to understand what the problem was. Regretfully you did not manage to understand what your...
Read moreHere at the Landzeit – Voralpenkreuz you enjoy your stopover the most, since it has delicious food in buffet style, so you see what you will get, and fluffy desserts. So here you get authentic and delicious Austrian food. There is also the possibility to rent rooms at the Landzeit, but we only stayed there two times for desserts and snacks on the way to Linz and from Linz, which is about 40 km and 25 minutes away. I highly recommend to spend some time in this Landzeit Restaurant when you are on the road from Munich via Salzburg to Vienna or vice versa. The staff is friendly, the prices are in the midrange segment, the food, coffee & desserts are delicious and the ambience in the Austrian country-style is very nice and elegant.

Read moreThe food and surroundings were first class. However, having chosen a meat dish, and preferring to have some salad with it, I was charged an extra €4.00 because salad does not automatically come with a meat dish. So - i was charged for vegetables AND salad. If I had taken extra veg instead of salad there would have been no charge! My friend had salad but took a spoonful of blueberries to go on top of it. He was charged an extra €5.00 for these, but if he had taken extra salad it would have been free. This was a total rip-off and it was not clear that these additional charges would be applied. The manager was not receptive when we complained and sneeringly told us to 'have a good day'. We will not be recommending anyone to use a Landzeit facility based on...
