Kanzelstub´n — Restaurant in Treffen am Ossiacher See

We are a bunch of local pilots eating here regularly. We are always treated badly, but the last time was so bad that we will never come back.

We asked the waitress whereas the fries or salad that she was offering were included with the 35 euro plate that I ordered. She said yes. Then got a 6 euro add on my bill for it. The manager said that the waitresses are like children they cannot do anything, so I should not have asked them anything. But as they are taking the order it only seems normal we ask her. The waitress who has many tattoos and is def far from being a child was insulted badly by the manager and also in my opinion remains the responsibility of the restaurant.

Manager shouting at me that its written in the menu that its not included in the price. I said that I did not see that as it was offered to me by the waitress and I asked her directly. Then she said angrily that I must have read it in the menu because I ordered my food from the menu and its written there.

Then she called the chef who actually looked rather disgusting. I was happy to be able to share my experience with him. Instead he started shouting as soon as he reached the table. He wasnt there to help or to apologise or the hear our version. He just wanted us to pay.

We payed. Left.

Forgot to mention that we were 4 people, two had already left because they got their food and dessert about an hour earlier than us. We were there for a very long time as the service was incredibly slow.

Dont waste your time here. Im a waitress myself and there is not a hair on my head that wants to come back here. Ive not been treated so poorly in quite a while. I cannot imagine talking to my customers the way she did.

Anyways, Better go to Josef or something. Or the Italian...

I recently ate here, and unfortunately, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff, particularly our waitress, seemed uninterested in serving foreigners. It was as if they were annoyed by our presence, and this made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable.

We were left waiting for an excessively long time for our food, with no explanation or apology. The restaurant was not particularly busy, so there was no clear reason for the delay. The lack of attentiveness and respect for customers was evident, and it made the wait feel even longer.

When the food finally arrived, it was underwhelming at best. It was lukewarm, poorly prepared, and lacked any real flavor. The portions were smaller than expected, especially for the high prices, making the entire experience feel like a complete rip-off.

All in all it felt like a classic tourist trap—offering subpar food and terrible service, with little regard for customer satisfaction. I would highly advise against visiting this place if you're looking for an enjoyable dining experience in Austria. It is not worth the time,...

WORST experience I ever had since the last quote a few years I lived in Austria. There is no zero star review, otherwise I will do that. And this is the FIRST time in my life I didn’t pay a tip since they don’t deserve it and they still unlawfully charged extra 6 euros by the two empty plates I asked for since we are a party of 4 people (including a 6-year-old and a senior over 60) and they only provided 2 plates intentionally. We ordered 2 big pizzas and 3 drinks since it’s almost 8-9 pm and we didn’t want to eat much since we just had lunch by 3-4 pm and the child usually almost doesn’t eat anything in the evening. The waiter made several times very not polite comments about what we ordered and ignored our table for so many times and we had to go to the bar place to request what we need, including the 2 empty plates I requested to use and share the 2 big pizzas we ordered. I think this is the only restaurant in the most nearby and near cable which is why they probably never even consider service is a thing. And the pizza is super salty anyways.
