Gasthof Andreas Hofer — Restaurant in Umhausen

The food was really delicious and a really big menu! I had the beef with croquettes & a chocolate soufflé which was 10/10. The lady who served us our dinner was really nice and accommodating.

However one of the other waitresses was so rude! In my whole 33 years I have never experienced rudeness like it. We asked for a table for lunch and the waitress with brown curly hair said there were no tables so we asked another staff member to book us in for a dinner reservation instead. We booked our reservation and we turned up 5 hours later for dinner and saw the same waitress and she literally looked at us before we could even say a thing and she said NOOO! Like over the top, so rude. So we said we have a reservation and she just walked off not saying a word. Not sure if she understood but still no way to speak to guests in a restaurant. So we asked another waitress who was lovely and sat us at our table. I have no idea why the waitress with the curly hair just looked at us and said no. She needs to sharpen up on her customer...

The food portions were huge—we had no idea! We ordered soups, a main dish, fries, and beans as a side, and ended up with way too much food.

That being said, the food was absolutely delicious! We had Schnitzel with Speckbohnen, Rump Steak, Gnocchi, Spinatknödel, Kaspressknödelsuppe, and I personally had the Knoblauchcremesuppe and Cordon Bleu with fries, which came with a salad on top. Everything tasted amazing. However, the soup didn’t sit well with my stomach, which was a bit upsetting.

The atmosphere was extremely loud, with too many guests talking at the same time, making it difficult to hear each other. Not the most pleasant dining experience.

Great-tasting food, but I wouldn’t go back if I come again...

100% recommend but make a reservation! We went here twice, it was so good. Light recommendation, order the warm cheese appetizer to mix with your dishes, the goat cheese and cranberries go with almost everything. I loved the peppercorn pork, I asked for extra peppercorns because I love when they explode and the waitress was very accommodating. It was SO good. We’ll definitely be back.
