Kringsalm Obertauern — Restaurant in Untertauern

If you have been to courchevel before and you liked the slightly bit more upmarket apre-ski party with champagne and live saxophone player and djs, then you are in perfect hands here! This is literally the BEST apre-ski with the best vibes in Obertauern. Also, they have BY FAR the BEST Kaiserschmarrn in the country. (trust me we try the Kaiserschmarrn everywhere and this one even trumps the Demel one in Vienna!)

We sat most of the times in the VIP area which needs booking ahead. The location gets very good afternoon sun for quite a long time, perfect for soaking up sun, booze and good mood.

We were very well looked after by the owner Mrs. Krings herself, and she has such a great personality and is a super nice host in general.

Krings Alm is situated right behind two major ski lifts (kringsalm and I think bergalm) So it's easy to get to, but it also has a road leading up to it, for visitors that don't want to ski.

Terrible service. We were offered a served table and told others would arrive in 30 mins but the table would be big enough for all of us - which Would have been true. We ordered drinks with our meal which did not arrive. When the others arrived they were clearly more than 5 and needed the whole table so we had to leave . The young waiter initially said he had advised us we would have to leave in 30 mins ( given we were eating - clearly ridiculous and not right) and then suggested there was a misunderstanding - no misunderstanding -...

Eine wirklich angenehme Hütte, die wir als Familie immer mal' wieder - Sommer wie Winter - besuchen. Diesmal ein paar Mal diese Woche am späteren Nachmittag zum Ausklang des Schitages. Das Personal ist nett, die Speisen und Getränke sind gut und weniger "Convenience" als an anderen Orten in Obertauern. Uns gefällt das sehr gut - bisweilen wünschen sich die Kinder "normale" Pommes und den üblichen langweiligen Toast - mir geht beides nicht ab und ich bin auch nicht unglücklich, dass sie ihren Speiseplan erweitern müssen. Am Ende schmeckt ein guter Bauerntoast sowieso viel besser 😉 In diesem Sinn ist die Hütte jedenfalls eine Empfehlung - und die riesige Sonnenterrasse ist genauso wie die Bar ein Highlight. Aus meiner Sicht bekommt man hier auch den Spagat aus normaler Hütte und Eventlocation gut hin - hier trifft man immer mal' wieder auch Gäste, die ohne Schi da sind und nur feiern oder die Berge genießen. Andererseits kann man sich als Familie auch in die Hütte zurückziehen und bekommt vom Partytrubel auf der Terrasse...
