Our meal wasn't as good as I'd hoped, or as I would have expected, based on the prices, but I will give them another chance, since friends have recommended them, and they seem to have potential. Fish and chips: They were out of chips and didn't have malt vinegar. Fluffy, thick batter and a good quantity of fish. Seemed promising at first, but the presentation was meh (cooked pear relish as a side on a fish dish?), and it felt like the dish fell flat. My stomach was off the rest of the night, as well. Burger: Nice that they have different bun, fries and sauce options, and that they ask how you want the patty cooked. Unfortunately, they got our order wrong (wrong bun and wrong type of fries). The meat seemed to be of good quality and was ground the way I prefer - slightly chunky with a good mouth feel - but the patty, which we ordered medium, was remarkably dry and closer to well done. Service was good but maybe a little overly friendly. The pizza chef was snacking in view of customers while at the pizza station / oven - not sure about Kärnten, but this is definitely against health regulations...
Read moreBecause our daughter has gluten intolerance, we phoned in advance to inquire about gluten-free menu options. We were assured that gluten-free pasta was available. Excited, we arrived, ordered drinks, and requested the gluten-free Bolognese, only to be told later that they didn't actually have gluten-free pasta. This disappointment truly marred our dinner experience, and we'll definitely steer clear of this restaurant in the future.
Later edit: The restaurant responded to my review, but instead of genuinely apologizing for the situation, they falsely claimed that apologies were extended during our dinner. In reality, no apologies were made; they straightforwardly informed us that they didn't have gluten-free pasta and asked if we wanted to order something else. Our daughter ended up having tomato soup and fries, which, if this was a suitable alternative, should have been communicated when we were told over the phone, just half an hour before arriving, that they could prepare...
Read moreWe were in just after lunch and it was nice and quiet. The portions were generously portioned. The Arugula salad with baked potatoes was excellent.
There was a claim on menu stating they had the "Best Burger in town"! I have yet to try enough restaurants to confirm that, but it was pretty darn tasty!
What was stand out were the thick cut "crispy fries". Hands down they remain the best fries I've had in Austria to date!
The muscles in in white wine sause were reportedly good but given I'm not one for fish.... I'll leave that to your judgement :)
Finally, the pizza, one of our party had a plain cheese pizza. Fresh out of the brick...
