Enzianhütte — Restaurant in Zell am See

Oh my happy stomach! We found this place by shear chance after exiting our parking spot near Seeplatz Camping place (closed) saving it for a local arriving at the same time & asking her where we could good schnitzel.

She gave us the best recommendation of our Summer holiday in Zell am See, Enzian Berghütte!!

Up on the hillside 10mins drive away, super calm, excellent yummy food, great friendly service at great prices - we had schnitzel, fleisch knodel & zwiebelrostbraten and we were in heaven!!

Fresh ingredients, obviously dishes lovingly & proudly put together - the whole team deserves 10 stars out of 5!

I went only for having dinner. The food was amazing and the portions are well served, the service was excellent and we had an opportunity to enjoy some musicians. Desserts was pretty good. If you ever go there you have to try the enzian schnapps (a spirit from the enzian plant that gives the place’s name). Out side you will also find a funny old game with nails. Everyone has puts the nails in the wood and try to hit with the hammer, the first nail to go...

Always try and have lunch here when walking around the Thumersbach area. Food is very delicious. Highly recommend the wild garlic and herb soup and the Pinzgauersuppentopf which is a local speciality soup with beef and fritter strips and vegetables. The farmers platter of meat, cheese and bread is also excellent. Really lovely to sit outside on a sunny day. The host and staff are welcoming...
