Warning!!! They will overcharge you!!

My husband thought the bill was much higher than expected. The lady said they added 10% tax and 15% gratuity. The total for each item was written down correctly, but the end total was not correct. They charged us $300.99

After leaving I calculated everything : $35 Lobster + $28 Ribs + $25 Grouper + $18 Cracked Chicken + $18 Cracked Chicken + $18 Jerk Chicken + $4 lemonade + $2 soda + $32 for 2 pina coladas= $180 +$18 [10% taxes] = $198 + 29.70 [15% gratuity added after taxes]= $227.70 should have been the total. They over charged us about $73.

My husband said he knew it wasn't right, but paid it anyways, because he figured they needed it more than us. My husband wanted me to let it go, but I couldn't. I am writing this as warning to others, as I hate when people are ripped off. You can enjoy the beach nearby with out eating here. The quality food was not even worth the original price let alone the overcharge. We will never eat here again.

We spoke with some locals and they warned us to stay away from this restaurant. They said it was a big tourist trap with very poor quality food. (They told us this before they even knew we already came here.)

[Note: This review was orignally written when we came here summer 2021. I just added some details, which made this review to appear to be...

We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food. The server, Leanadia, was very misleading. Two of my kids ordered Alfredo pasta, and she casually asked, “Chicken or shrimp?”—without mentioning that chicken was an additional $12 and shrimp was $15 extra. We only realized this when we got the bill. Each pasta ended up costing $42 and $45, which is outrageously overpriced—especially considering how underwhelming it tasted. One of my daughters said it tasted like microwave food.

I did enjoy the grouper, and my husband liked the jerk chicken, but overall, this was the least flavorful meal we’ve had during our entire week in the Bahamas. We chose this place based on good reviews, but honestly, the food didn’t live up to the hype or the prices.

As for the service, Leanadia had a cold and sarcastic attitude. Any time we asked a question, she responded with a smart remark. We were a party of 8, and I’m not sure if the 20% gratuity was automatically added due to our group size, but if so, her $72 tip was not earned.

The only positive was that she warned us about sharks in the water while my daughter and I were swimming—so for that, I’m...

It had been about 10 years since our last visit to Santana’s—and we’re happy to report it’s still as memorable as ever. This authentic, family-run Bahamian spot continues to deliver that warm, local charm it’s known for.

We stopped by after a beach day at Tropic of Cancer and arrived around 3 PM—right when it was slammed. It took a little while to get drinks, so we quickly decided to put in our full order to avoid a long wait with hungry kids in tow. Pro tip: timing matters here, so plan accordingly if you’re visiting during peak hours.

Food-wise, the grouper stole the show—perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The BBQ and jerk chicken were generous portions; the jerk was a bit on the dry side, but still tasty. The ribs were solid, but the real surprise? The rice and peas—hands down the best we had anywhere on the island.

A special highlight was seeing the original owner, who we met on our first visit years ago. It was great to learn she’s passed the torch to her daughter, keeping the family legacy alive.

Santana’s remains a true island staple—rustic, welcoming, and worth a stop on any...

Food is A-w-e-s-o-m-e. Atmosphere can't be beat, right on the water. The crew there is pretty great but remember, you are on island time !!!! They take phone in reservations, this will ensure they are open when you show up. My favorite was the shrimp then Lobster, then grouper and then conch. The rice and slaw with the meal are great as well. When you are done stop next door to Mom's bakery for a Johnny cake or rum cake and a loaf of bread for tomorrow. Across the street the kids can pet the goats. Keep an eye out for Mateo, he is a cool kid.
