The "Fish Fry" starts anywhere from 6pm-8pm and goes until...who knows? There is generally a lot of wiggle-room when it comes to "set hours" on Exuma, so plan accordingly. I've eaten at a few of the stands there. Shirley's is the only real "sit-down" style restaurant here, with the rest of them having a limited seating area, maybe a picnic table or bar to sit at.
Had some really good snapper at Krusty Crab for a pretty modest rate. Similar quality food as a lot of restaurants, at about half the price. We went here twice during our stay in George Town. LOVED the different food options. A great place for locals, tourist, and cruisers to come together and enjoy. Everything we had was delicious, just wish I had a bigger stomach so I could have sampled more!
We really enjoyed Shirley's but the best fried fish we had was at the North most, water front "shack" next to Shirley's. Shirley's had great cracked conch and fresh salad. Lots of options...

Very friendly staff. They are happy to tell you about life on the island. Very interesting! We had the best conch fritters we have ever had. And very affordable. You get a nice plate of conch fritters (tempura style) for around $6. We also had coconut fried grouper which was outstanding. Service was quick (which is not always our experience on this island). Very pleased...
