Forget paved roads and cityscapes – Barbeque Town takes you on a detour to a charmingly rustic escape. Imagine this: you veer off the tarmac, and boom, a vibrant oasis shimmers in the desert sunlight. Think open-air seating under twinkling lights, a lively playground for the kids, and quirky touches like open handwashing basins and springy artificial grass. It's like a carnival sprinkled with Bahraini flair, thanks to columns adorned with traditional proverbs and quotes.
The folks here? Top-notch friendly and attentive, making you feel instantly welcome. As the name suggests, the menu's a carnivore's dreamland – grilled, roasted, smoked, and barbecued meats galore, all with a distinct local flavor. We dove into the melt-in-your-mouth lamb neck (seriously, fall-off-the-bone goodness) and the Bahraini Tikka, which was tasty, though not quite on par with dedicated Tikka specialists. The hummus held its own, and the spicy salad? Buckle up, green chili lovers, this one packs a punch!
Bonus points for the freshly baked tanoor bread they bring out – it's the perfect upgrade to any meal. And oh, the prices? Easy on the wallet, leaving you with more bucks for Bahraini adventures.
Barbeque Town might be off the beaten path, but it's a delightful hidden gem. I'll definitely be back to conquer more of their meaty menu next time I'm in Bahrain. This place is all about laid-back vibes, delicious eats, and a touch of local charm – a total...
Read moreI finally hit up BBQ Town in Bahrain, the third BBQ spot on my list, and one many of you told me to check out. Took a while to find it and we got there around 3 PM for a late lunch. The place is massive, with both indoor and outdoor seating, with a good crowd already digging in.
So, this is what we ordered...
Roast Lamb Neck (BD 3.500): Tender, moist, subtle spice, and a tiny kiss of BBQ sauce. Good, but if you've had Sabar Ayoob's, that one still reigns supreme for me.
Iraqi Kebab (BD 2.000 for 4): Decent, but serving them in foil made 'em a bit soggy and lost some of that char. Plus, slightly overcooked. For Iraqi Kebabs, Khan Bagdad still holds the crown.
Meat Kebab (BD 1.000 for 4): NOW WE'RE TALKING! Four skewers for just 10 Riyals (BD 1)?! That's insane value! These were lovely, packed with flavour, and absolutely hit the spot with some hummus. A definite must-order!
Lamb Chops (BD 3.700 for 4): These had FLAVOR! Seriously, the spice rub was on point. They were a tad overcooked for my liking (not as tender as I hoped), but that spice mix alone makes them worth trying.
The Verdict? Overall, it was a good experience, but the real MVP here is the price. All that food, after taxes, came to just BD 11.750 (SR 117)! You can't...
