My recent visit to Chalk and Beans left much to be desired. Despite the anticipation of a pleasant coffee hangout with my cousins, the overall experience fell short of expectations.

The ambiance, unfortunately, was far from inviting. The dimly lit interior and the unwelcome presence of mosquitoes detracted from the potential enjoyment of our time there. To make matters worse, the unnecessarily loud music playing in the background created an atmosphere that was more nightclub than café.

While engaged in lively conversation with my cousins, we were approached by a waiter in a rather rude manner, instructing us to lower our voices without any prior complaints from other customers. This left us puzzled, especially considering that the ambient music was playing at a higher volume than our conversation.

It was evident that the staff lacked a fundamental understanding of the café concept. Cafés are meant to be social spaces where people gather, converse, and enjoy each other's company – not silent sanctuaries.

The incident ultimately led us to cut our visit short, as we felt insulted and unwelcome.

In conclusion, Chalk and Beans may be more suited for couples seeking a quiet rendezvous, but it falls short as a family or friend-friendly space. I am a coffee freak! So I was naturally very delighted to find out this place. Their coffee is very good. However, there are few things they need to work on. Their hot meals are below average. Please change your chef. Bring sandwiches and cheesecakes to your menu. We really can't identify who's the waiter here. Give them an uniform. It's really awkward and sometimes embarrassing to guess who are the waiters here. And of course, we don't want to mistake another customer with that. Please work on your management a little better. Today, the three of us went to Chalk & Beans. We all ordered coffee and honestly, it was really good. The taste, the aroma, and the overall coffee experience were amazing.

The environment of the shop is very nice and cozy. Since we work online as freelancers, we really liked that you can bring your laptop and work here. They have charging facilities, fast internet, and a quiet space, which makes it very convenient to focus on work.

The service was great too. The staff are very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. The beautiful setup and cozy interior make the whole experience even better.
