Chaa Nastha — Restaurant in Sylhet Division

This place is a joke. Now let me preface a few things first that could explain the 1* rating I'm giving. a) it was a Friday. b) Apparently the chef was not in. But nothing can really explain the service. The guy was apologetic enough but this experience comes straight out of only fools and horses!

So, we liked the review, pictures looked good. Came at 2pm to be told they will open around 3pm.

We shopped around and came back at 3pm. The place was a bit dingy, flies outside and when I looked at the cooking arena...well... I was about to leave...but we were 6 people and a driver and they were keen to try.

We look at the menu and was told all available, only to be told 80% of menu not available. So we ordered the chowmeins and some chips. Whilst taking the order he tells me we would need to wait a bit..then says no chowmein!

So I asked what do you have. He says Fries, some dumpling and chicken nuggets. So I ordered 2 dumpling things, 7 chips and also 7 nugget portion. We were told they only had coke or Mojo. We ordered coke.

I waited about 30 minutes, only to be told it's ready in 2 minutes. 15 minutes later he comes out and tells me something that I could not understand. So 45 mins in he tells me he has only 2.5 portion of nuggets. I said ok, we will have that. Still no food.

So after and hour and at least 2 pestering he comes out with 15 nuggets (6 per portion) and 3 chips.

The chips were basically full of grease and hand cut, not really fries. It's the stuff your mum makes at home. Soggy, oily.

It then takes me pestering another 1 hr before the other 4 fries come. In fact I got so frustrated with his "2 minutes, I'm just bringing it out" that I offered to pay him and leave without the food. But he assured me it's coming and then makes me wait another 15 minutes.

Finally it comes and I see him run across and get some...not coke but Mojo (i did not kind as same thing to me).

It took over 2hrs to fry some fries and nuggets.

If they can't do the order, they should not take it. If they say 5 mins, fine. They say 1 min and show yiu they are frying something and the take 2hrs!

Yes, it was Friday, but don't take orders if you can't make it.
