Upon arrival at Surfers Bay I was taken aback by the sheer beauty of the location. The newly renovated rooms overlooked the gorgeous swimming pool, the charismatic restaurant and bar and last but certainly not least the absolutely beautiful coastline and ocean. I spent many an hour looking at the brilliant blue sea in the day time, as well as soaking in the stunning sun set views as the evenings drew in.
The room was very comfortable, clean and had plenty of amenities to prepare my own food. However, the self cooking aspect was wasted on me as I regularly ate the food served in the bar/restaurant - which was genuinely delicious every single time, regardless of what I picked off the varied menu.
The aforementioned swimming pool offered a welcoming refreshing dip from the hot sun, whilst the relaxing sun beds and hammocks allowed me to kick back and unwind in pure peace, surrounded by the breathtaking nature.
Surfers bay also regularly hosts events, such as the Reggae night i attended on a Sunday. These events are extremely fun, with excellent music from well known bands on the island, really good drinks served by the bar, and a host of spots to hang out, from the fire pit to the newly installed dance floor - even if just attending for one of these events I highly recommend the bay!
Finally, but most importantly - the staff were incredibly helpful, kind, welcoming and friendly; from the director of the resort - Will, who welcomed me with the utmost hospitality, to the talented bar, restaurant and security staff who made me feel right at home straightaway at Surfers bay.
I am already counting down the days until I can once again return to the Bay, I made some amazing memories that will last a lifetime. I deeply recommend anyone who wants to have a good time in Barbados to...
Read moreIf you haven't been to Surfer's Bay to see "Rite Side of Red" on Sunday night, you're sincerely missing out! This is the ultimate live music venue in Barbados.
The sound is incredible, and the seating generous and spread out over a covered raised patio, with plenty of room for dancing in from of the band. Tons of seating over the lawn down to the ocean, including a bonfire at the far end. We recognized so many folks from our time on the island - Crystal Waters, Champers, and Mojo. This is the place to be on a Sunday night!
The barstaff work their tails off to keep drink orders flowing smoothly. Even with a packed venue (well over 100 people), there was never more than a 10 minute wait at the bar. We didn't come for supper, but the kitchen was open and pumping out delicious looking food well past 11 pm.
To the young man who was working his first shift at the bar - you rocked!!
To Matt - you have created an oasis for both locals and tourists. Thank you! You made my last night on the island magical, and I cannot...
Read moreI just recently stayed at Surfers Bay for 9 nights in one of there master suites with my partner and it was easily the best holiday we have ever had. Not only is the hotel beautiful and comes with great amenities, the staff there are also extremely friendly, Rico in particular was very nice.
Matt and Will are an absolute dream team together and were more than happy to give suggestions/recommendations on what to get up to during our stay, they would make everything extremely seamless for us and would help to organise surf lessons and other activities.
The bar in itself was the perfect vibe for a few drinks to watch the sunsets as well as listening to the best reggae band on Sunday nights, Iâd strongly recommended for people to come to this even if you arnt staying at the hotel as a guest, a must do in Barbados! The food in the hotel is amazing and the mahi mahi was the best on the holiday.
Thanks again to Will and Matt, you made our...
