Monkeys — Restaurant in Antwerp

“You pay peanuts, you get Monkeys” was written on the wall. But I had to pay many peanuts and for these expensive prices, I would expect a higher level of quality of food. Although I have to add that I am a picky eater, the food was not at all to my taste. Let’s break it down. I was not too fond of the starters. The calamares were bland and had more crust than calamares itself. The garlic bread was not available (a shame!). From the main dish, I only liked the diced chicken. The sauces were horrible (it did not give the impression it was fresh). The salad was not tasty. The potatoes were barely okay. The vegetable pizza was alright, quite thin though, but with fresh vegetables. The presentation of the food is very nice and the service is very good (very sweet girl).

This place was so busy (on Friday evening) with big noisy groups coming in and out and if you are sitting at the door, everyone leaves the door open, hitting you with a gush of cold. Not a pleasant environment to enjoy dinner.

In general, I found that the choices in Antwerp are limited and if you really need to find a place, this is a place that you need to try at least and maybe you’ll find a dish to your personal liking.

The food was descent. Would give it a solid, 7/10. The staff was very friendly, 10/10. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, 8/10.

However two big letdown's; prices & wait time. The prices are just to high for what you get. And the wait time is waaaay to long. We waited a solid hour for two plates to come our way. I had to ask the manager several times how long it was going to take. I almost packed and left.

Aangezien de laatste tijd hamburgertenten als paddestoelen uit de grond komen, was ik eens benieuwd naar monkeys. Blijkbaar al een tijdje in DA business, maar ik kende het niet. Ben ook niet makkelijk wat betreft burgers🤨. Na de 1ste keer bestellen, kon ik niet geloven dat ik deze tent niet kende🤦🏽‍♀️. Diverse burgers geprobeerd en tot nu toe kan ik over elke burger zeggen dat die DAMN GOOD zijn! Je proeft het verschil tussen de soorten burgers, niet enkel het vlees, maar de combo van de toppings en sauzen is naar mijn mening GREAT! Laten we hopen dat deze tent zijn waarden niet laat zakken en constant blijft in de kwaliteit en smaak. Want alles ìs vers, je proeft dat gewoon. Team Monkeys, doe zo voort en geef nooit op...dit is een concept dat je een naam kan geven hier. En blijf consequent, is er iets mis gegaan? Geen stress, zie dat alles is hoe het hoort. Ik wacht bij een vergissing liever 2uur om dan iets HELEMAAL LEIP LEKKER te eten dan dat het snelsnel wordt gedaan en het niet te eten is (is ook zonde van de goede ingrediënten die jullie sowieso hebben😉)...hele team is TOP💪🏾👍🏽!!
