The event turned out to be disappointing for several reasons.

To start with, the staff informed us just four days before the event that it would be a shared concept, meaning we had to share tables with strangers.

The first meal was served after a frustrating one-and-a-half-hour wait in an uncomfortably cold room. The starters arrived out of menu sequence, all at once, and were served totally cold. The kipsaté and mini burgers were of micro size and contained nothing else but a cold piece of meat. "Truffel mayo" was promised but not delivered. The portions were very small, trying to be disguised by couscous in several dishes. The dessert was only served at 23:30, making it difficult to enjoy before the midnight countdown. Overall, the food was very basic, with the only dish worthy of praise being the deer croquette. After spending 170 euros on a menu full of micro-size cold starters, served too late and with more promises than actual ingredients, I feel cheated.

From 24:00, a sewage-like odor filled the entire room, suggesting an issue with the sewage system. The crowd that arrived after midnight exceeded the venue's capacity, creating an uncomfortable and cramped atmosphere. Prolonged restroom queues throughout the party added to the overall inconvenience. The DJ played repetitive music from the 2000s, lacking current hits, retro, or classic tunes. In the techno room, the smell of cigarette smoke made it unbearable to stay.

Despite encouraging people to gather on the terrace for the midnight countdown, organizers overlooked weather conditions. With only one umbrella, the crowd had to stand in the rain while watching the fireworks.

Last year's New Year's Eve at Plein Publiek featured a buffet with tasty, warm, and elegant dishes. The DJ was good, there was a photographer throughout the party, and a glass of champagne at midnight, along with extra accessories and décor. Comparisons with the previous year heightened the disappointment, as this year's quality of services fell short of expectations.

While the event had its share of disappointments, one notable highlight was the consistently friendly staff.

Significantly, other guests shared the same opinion, expressing dissatisfaction with a cold and smelly venue, a poor menu, and an overall disappointing experience.

This place is really the worst experience i had going out eating in Belgium, there is absolutely no service, because the people here discriminate and ignore their clients based on i don't know what principle. We didn't know we should reserve that's our fault, but it didn't show on their website that a reservation is absolutely necessary. The place is super difficult to find, and when we went in at 21:20 there is even no light outside to lead the way, after we got in, we asked politely about possibility to eat, the boss(looks like) told us they make food only according reservation so no food for us but he will see if there is leftover. So we waited patiently, but things started to get weird, because we got simply ignored! The people coming later than us got served with menu, we were there waited for 20 minutes nobody even looked at us for a second time, and you can clearly feel that you are being treated differently because all other people around us get served, i don't know it's because of my asian face or what i have done doesn't deserve to be served, but i will definitely never...

De keet is net open en ziet er fantastisch uit. Het neo industriële karakter gemengd met de serre is uniek vanuit elk oogpunt. De keuken van zouterover heb ik niet geproefd maar ik heb de gril zien branden en het ruikt en oogt in ieder geval subliem. Daar stopt spijtig genoeg mijn positieve commentaar. Ik kwam voor een feestje en ben naar een ander café getrokken om 2.00uur om te kunnen dansen. Niet eenmaal maar tweemaal. Een derde keer ga ik niet proberen. Het is een prestatie wanneer de dj erin slaagt zelfs de meest alternatieve mensen stil te laten staan om 2 uur s nachts. Over de bar heb ik ook een goed woord. De kaart is bijzonder uitgebreid van tankjupiler tot triple karmeliet, ruime selectie sterke drank en interessante softdrinks. Het bestellen is echter een werk voor bachelorstudenten. Betalen is zo mogelijk nog complexer. Het hele kaart opladen gedoe is nodeloos moeilijk. Ik heb een bankkaart, masterkaart en een gsm app. Waarom moet ik dan in godsnaam nog een kaart hebben van die keet? Ik weet na drie triple K's vergeet ik het bestaan van de wereld buiten Antwerpen, dus zeker ook het resterend bedrag op die kaart. Als ik na een kwartier dan toch mijn bestelling heb kunnen plaatsen brengt het personeel mijn drank in verkeerde glazen of zeggen ze me dat het op is. Terwijl ik de fles letterlijk aan het aanwijzen ben. En wanneer ik een pure blonde bestel voor mijn vriendin moet de jongedame mij vragen "is dat jupiler blond?" Een laatste opmerking is dat er niets van cocktail op de kaart staat. Ok ik kan tonic en gin bestellen en bij elkaar kappen. Maar kom ik daarvoor naar een club waar ik 9€ betaal voor die drank? Mij laatste punt van kritiek zijn de toiletten. Ik snap niet dat ik aan het plassen ben terwijl ik oog in oog sta met een jongedame die duidelijk mijn vriendin oneer aan wil doen. Begrijpelijk en flatterend, doch ietwat onnodig voor een keet met klasse. Om te eindigen op een positieve noot zal ik het niet hebben over de intellectuele oneerlijkheid over de CO2 neutrale bio zever, maar over de indrukwekkende beelden die op de binnenkant van de containers geschenen worden. Dit is van een zeer indrukwekkend niveau waarvoor ik de artiesten meer dan een pluim op de hoed wil steken.
