Robette's bistrobar — Restaurant in Beernem

We had dinner here after an invitation from a befriended couple (who frequently go here) and I'm glad we took up on their offer. I already did like the concept of sharing smaller plates (from other similar places) and I was immediately charmed by the entries on the menu. More over, they were more than happy to help clarify what's what exactly. We shared 4 dishes (each dish being a plate for 2) ended with a small dessert and enjoyed it all the way through. The menu changes each month so we'll surely go back sometime to try...

The food was very tasty and the waiting staff were very nice, but we had to wait 2 hours and 30 minutes before we got the last of our food. That's just way, way too long considering the portions are tiny and not incredibly sophisticated. I wouldn't have minded all that much if the prices weren't so very high: those are, after all, clearly not offset by the size of the portions or the amount of kitchen staff. Soms krijgt de horecasector - terechte - kritiek maar Robette's is wat ons betreft hét voorbeeld hoe het wél moet. Een creatieve maar ook niet nodeloos complexe en vooral smakelijke keuken volgens het sharingprincipe.Rekening houdende met een vol restaurant en het feit dat Jan alleen in de keuken staat vonden wij de wachttijden heel aanvaardbaar : Robette's is gelukkig geen eetfabriek en alles wordt à la minute bereid.De dames van de bediening zijn vriendelijk, beleefd maar toch niet afstandelijk waardoor je je echt op je gemak voelt. Wat ook zeker mag vermeld worden : de glazen en het bestek blinken wat een goed teken is voor de algemene hygiëne. Samengevat : een dikke aanrader, topadresje ! Heel graag tot een volgende keer....
