The place was a bit of a disappointment, after all the good reviews here. The food, while expensive, was surprisingly bland and boring, if you know the cuisine of the Caribbean. Chicken empanadas without anything except chicken in them? As a sauce, just some kind of spicy Belgian mayonnaise? A €30 crispy pork belly served just with a mash, without any herbs or sauces of fruit? The ceviche was the only thing that merited top marks.

And everything was so excruciatingly slow! We were the first one in when the place opened at 7 pm, and only got our mains at 9 pm. As we had gone there with our children to celebrate the end of their exam, that was really a bit of a trial.

We had a wonderful dinner at Burla’o. The food was delicious but we would especially like to mention our shared starter of guacamole, pico de gallo and chips which was tasty, healthy and a little bit different to the usually. The stand-out of the evening was the dessert. We chose the tres leches cake and the corn pudding. We absolutely loved these and congratulate the chef on introducing us to these superb desserts. J'ai récemment eu le plaisir de dîner au Burlao Restaurant & Lounge à Braine-l'Alleud, et ce fut une expérience inoubliable. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec des sourires chaleureux et une ambiance conviviale qui a immédiatement donné le ton pour une soirée parfaite.
