We spontaneously stopped here for dinner. The restaurant has 2 sections. One has more atmosphere than the other part. The tables were set, but not in the 2nd section when we arrived. Our tables were set with cheap paper placemats. A slight disappointment for the entourage experience. But, we turned them over and my kids used them to draw on. We asked for an empty plate for our youngest, so she can have some of our food. They charged us €1,50 in the end for it, which I find very weird and they didn't mention it on forehand.

But... staff is super friendly. And the food delicious. I've ordered the 'vis pannetje' and it was divine. Absolutely spot on delicious. I'm not a big fan of fish, but it was so well prepared. It's an oven dish with a mixture of several kinds of fish and sea fruit. It had all kinds of (soft) texture and flavours. I normally don't finish a fish dish, but I could not get enough of this. I absolutely recommend...

Na en dagje vertoeven aan de kust zijn we bij deze gelegenheid gestopt om een lekkere maaltijd te nemen dit op aanraden van mijn man, die hier al enkele maken geweest was. Het is er heel rustig en je kan er echt op adem komen. De kaart is heel uitgebreid en er is heel wat keuze in vis gerechten. Mijn man nam paling in roomsaus en ik nam gefrituurde tong reepjes met tartaar, allebei met frietjes. Ik ben geen viseter doch dit gerecht beviel me wel. Mijn man, wel vis liefhebber, was in de wolken. Achteraf namen we de koekjes taart op grootmoeders wijze met een koffie verkeerd. De taart was erg lekker maar ze was ietjes te machtig. Zoals ik al schreef kan je er goed tot rust komen en aan de bediening merk je dat ook want die nemen alle tijd maar wel correct en...

Auberge la plus sympathique de Flandres. Authentique et familiale. Proche d’Oostkerke, l’un des trois plus beaux villages autour de Bruges. Belle vue sur les canaux et polders. Mets savoureux, spécialités locales et de saison. Tout y est généreux. Traditionnel : le frère aux fourneaux, la sœur en salle, la mère à la caisse, le père derrière le bar. Le menu est bilingue. Avec des personnes parlant parfaitement le français. A la saison, de petits homards succulents pour un prix raisonnable. Clientèle presque exclusivement flamande : des connaisseurs. Les quelques rares touristes y sont heureusement surpris. Et bienvenus. Un « must » de la région. Nous recommandons absolument. Réserver à l’avance car...
