If you are visiting touristy Durbuy but would like a quiet night's rest, away from the hordes, this might be a good suggestion. It is about two kilometers north of the main part of Durbuy, in a small rural community. The building used to be an old residence, and except for a few original walls, it has been completely revamped and modernized with the finest attention to quality. The design is spare, but very tasteful and pleasant. There are six rooms here, and we were upgraded to a suite because we arrived on a quiet night. Everything is perfectly clean. The beds were very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. The owner was most helpful, very thoughtful and considerate to us. He speaks a number of languages including French, Dutch and English. The facilities include a very highly rated restaurant for dinner (it was closed the night we were there) and it's a good choice if you don't want to go to town for the evening. It's very quiet in this area, but that was just what we were looking for. Breakfast is 15 euro per person, and although we only wanted coffee, I'm sure the full breakfast would be well worth it. The coffee was a treat. Please note something worth knowing about the hotel's name: The "O" at the end is the local dialect's equivalent of the French word "haut" for upper. So, you might think with a name like Hotel Durbuy, it would be in Durbuy proper. But the key to its location north of town, up a hill,...

Read moreWe have been at Durbuy for a weekend and it was a very nice surprise. The hotel is very nice, clean and simple, modern and simply furnished (many things coming from a popular store selling Swedish furniture). The house is a totally revamped farmhouse with modern comfort and style. It has a big parking place. We have a suite on the top floor with an extra bed for a child. Very nice and spacious room. The only comment I could make is that the soap and the toilet amenities are a bit old style and not so good quality. Apart from that everything was nice. Free wifi. The hosts were very very nice and kind, taking into account all our requests. A special mention for the restaurant : fantastic food we ate there twice very good preparation, good choice, nice menu for children as well. Good and attentive service. Breakfast very nice as well. ||All in all a very good place not far from Durbuy but far from the crowded touristic routes. my little son was so pleased he never wanted to leave....
