Bistro Iris — Restaurant in Gavere

It was nice weather, so we sat outside. We immediately ordered drinks and the food, because we had done some research online if the served vegetarian options. The food came 10-15 minutes after we ordered.

I don't like when they put sauce or vinegar all over your vegetables. I don't like that, because I cannot eat the sauce. So that meant for me that the vegetables were wasted and I only had meat and fries. So not that happy with that.

The meat was OK, but it wasn't done as I requested. It could have used another minute on the heat.

The fries and meat tasted good.

My wife had the vegetarian option. There was not a lot of vegetarian options on the menu (salad or pasta). But lucky there were some vegetarian specials.

When paying we came to the realisation that we paid 3 euro extra for sauce. I really thought that sauce would have been included in a steak. But apparently here you have to pay 3 euro for a small bowl of sauce.

I would probably go there again if they forced me to. But because of some things (sauce in greens, and 3 euro for mushroom sauce) it is not on the top of my list.
