Zjalto — Restaurant in Geel

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. During my visit with an international group, I made a comment that I thought was lighthearted, but it was clearly not received well by the owner. Instead of addressing it politely, she disrespected me, asking where I was from and criticizing my country in a very prejudiced way. I felt humiliated and unwelcome in what should have been a pleasant dining experience. The staff should be trained to handle situations more professionally and foster a respectful environment for all customers. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this...

Zjalto, or yellow in Bulgarian, in the city of Geel, which translates as yellow too ;-). A revelation. Hidden in a peaceful residential area outside the city center. The chef and the lady of the house work closely together to bring you an unforgettable experience. We completely understand and support the near-perfect score Zjalto receives on review websites. Hun leuze…’het onverwachte verbetert de ervaring’. En dat klopt als een bus. Het is een beetje zoeken in het begin, aangezien het restaurant in een wijk ligt. Maar adhv de huisnummers kom je er wel en dan val je op het bordje van ‘Zjalto’ en vraag je uzelf af waarom hebben we dit daarjuist niet gezien. Parkeergelegenheid is wat zoeken als je als laatste toekomt. Maar lukt wel. Eenmaal binnen is het zeer aangenaam vertoeven dankzij de gastheer/kok en gastvrouw. De smaken zijn tot in de puntjes af! Beginnend van de hapjes en zelfs de boter met het verse brood. Tot en met het dessert en kaasplank is het genieten. De samenstelling van de gerechten is misschien niet alledaags, maar de gewaagde combinaties kloppen volledig. Elk element maakt het gerecht compleet. Zjalto laat je dingen graag eten, waarvan je vroeger misschien je neus had opgetrokken. Dus laat u verrassen… want het maakt de ervaring zoveel beter! Zeer fijne culinaire...
