McDonald's Genk — Restaurant in Genk

I visited Belgium this past weekend and had an unpleasant experience while trying to order food. The staff were quite unhelpful and didn’t respond when I spoke to them in English, which is the only language I speak. Instead, they kept repeating the same thing in their own language, even after I tried to clarify. I eventually went to the counter, but the same thing happened again. It felt very unfriendly toward tourists — I would have appreciated at least a polite response or some effort...

Nice and really big MacDonald's in the industrial district outside of Genk. High ceiling and bright lighting inside may present a bit of a shock when walking in at dark hours but the place look really modern and nice overall. Service is fast despite sporadic problems with the self order machines not printing receipts. Drive through and spacious parking...

This location confuses me. It is like an anti-McDonalds. The menu is a partial menu compared to any other location in the area. The service is barely in the same time zone. Food regularly takes 20-30 minutes and is always subpar. Tonight is my fourth and likely final visit. The franchise owner really should revisit what it takes to run a decent “fast”...
