Colmar — Restaurant in Ghent

Our Sunday visit was a disaster. We had to wait for seating despite having booked and arriving on time. The plates for the buffet were not properly cleaned. Our order was entirely messed up and the food took more than an hour to arrive, and despite this the food was not properly cooked, some meat arrived raw (!). The final ticket was wrong and contained items we never received because they were totally forgotten by the waiters. I was so upset when I left the restaurant I made a scene. Another family talked to me outside and said they were relieved to notice they were not the only ones to be unhappy. I was there yesterday. Only one word: great! It's not that cheap, but drinks are included. (Wine, Beer, Softdrinks, Water). My Steak was the best I ever had. The service was very fast. About 20 mins after arriving with 8 people, the dinner was ready. The service was nice and could speak many languages. (French, Dutch, English and German). (I know it, because I'm German speaking and tried if the service understands me and talks to me in German ;) I only ate dessert, so I can only talk about the dessert. There is self service on a big buffet witch was always full.

I'm getting the impression this place is slowly going downhill... The make-your-own-taco stand didn't have any uncrumpled tacos (at 6 pm), there are few updates to the menu which have any impact, and there are rather few vegetarian options. The buffet wasn't bad, but certainly wasn't exquisite. It's still a nice place for kids as it has a cinema and a well stocked dessert buffet, including a chocolate fountain which is always fun...
