Restaurant 't Kriekske — Restaurant in Halle

The food is great and the area is so beautiful, in the middle of the forest. A pity that the same cannot be said about the service. We had a reservation for 2 people and, when we arrived, we were asked if we prefer to eat inside or at the terrace. We chose the terrace to enjoy the sun, so we were told to go there and that a table would be prepared outside for us. We sat at a free table but, after 10 minutes, no one came to give us a menu, or to prepare the table. When we asked for the menu, and while one of the waitresses brought it to us, another waiter started to scream at us from the distance, saying that we can't sit there because those tables were closed. After which he just left, giving us zero instructions on where else to sit. Prior to that, another waiter kept looking at us and when we called him, he totally ignored us. We then went again inside to explain that we didn't understand what was happening. We were then given a table inside, which was OK with us, but it wasn't a good spot since it was next to the door and waiters kept running back and forth right next to us. The waiters were very restless and seemed stressed, although the restaurant was not even 80% full. The chaos and disorganization breaks a bit the nice atmosphere when you try to enjoy your lunch. We got the carpaccio as starter, and the entrecote and the coque au vin as mains. I'm happy the food was delicious. But, I can't recommend this place if this is how they treat their clients. The service at this place was one of the worst I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The waiter obviously couldn't cope. After we sat down at the dirty table, which I cleared up a little bit we waited for 15 minutes and then dared to ask whether we could order - the waiter looked at us and said "no, I am doing something else now" not "I will be with you in a minute" or something similar - just - no. Oubliés et déçus. Très belle balade en forêt de Halle avant de venir se restaurer sur la très belle terrasse extérieure ! Histoire de dire quelque chose de positif. Ensuite tout va mal, nous commandons une bouteille de vin blanc et allons attendre presque 2 heures pour être servis d'un carpaccio et de 3 salades de chèvres chaud ! Le carpaccio en fait n'en est pas un, quelques tranches de Rosbeefs froids coupées finement, les salades de chèvres chaud, une rondelle de fromage à peine tiède sur un toast froid entouré de quelques feuilles de salades ! Tout cela servi après plus d'1:45 d'attente et la commande d'une 2ème bouteille, par un petit serveur flamand roquemoute agressif qui nous avait oublié, m'agresse verbalement car mécontent mais surtout car français !

Le pompon après plus de 3 heures, au moins agréablement installés au soleil, chacun devra payer 50 centimes pour aller aux toilettes ! (à la toilette comme ils disent sur place !) Le petit rouquin nous jette l'addition, aucun effort commercial, pas de cafés offerts, rien, nada, nous payons en cash sans laisser un centime de pourboire à ce jeune freluquet méprisant et limite insolent ( je passe les détails de son comportement, yeux levés aux ciel, regard agressif en soufflant, altercation verbale à partir de la table voisine dès qu'il m'a entendu prononcer le nom de TripAdvisor !...)

Bref jolie terrasse, repas médiocre, service...
