Le Campagnard — Restaurant in Hastière

We visited this quaint little restaurant on a Sunday night and were happy to see the restaurant open and no bookings required. The hostess was very accommodating (we managed to converse via Google translate). The food I would describe as homely. Very tasty but not fine dining (although we did only have the fondue, so this may be different for the other dishes). We tried the red wine fondue which was a first for me (basically, instead of oil, a red wine stock is used) and it was very good. Portion sizes good and house wine well priced. Klein restaurantje bij aanvang, maar zeer gezellig tijdens dineren. Vlees was perfect gebakken. Dit was ook bijgestaan door een extrinsiek pleasing zijgerechtje. Niet alleen extrinsiek appealing, maar ook mondiaal een culinair avontuur.

Naast het feit dat het personeel in huiskledij rondloopt en constant vast cliënteel over de vloer krijgt, zijn ze zeer professioneel in hun handelen.

Voor ons eten kregen we ook elk een klein soepje en hapje. Ik overdrijf niet als ik zeg dat dit Michelinster-waardig was. Het oogt niet veel in het begin, maar beoogt het aanvallen van je smaakpapillen, en daar slaagt die zeker in.

Over het algemeen: Ze zijn vlot van babbel en er heerste een gezellige sfeer. Eten was tiptop in orde. Over de prijs is ook zeker niet te klagen. Wij komen nog terug en zeker...
